A faceted Black Onyx pendant is suspended from a delicate Sterling Silver figure eight chain.

Necklace measures approximately 16 ½” and comes with a 2” matching extender chain.  Sterling Silver lobster clasp.  Black Onyx pendant measures 12x16mm (about ½”).

Onyx itself is a variety of striped chalcedony that is made up of alternating broad, flat bands of black and white. Onyx differs from other agate in the fact that the bands are parallel and regularly spaced. If the piece of onyx is brown and white, it is called Sardonyx. If it is red and white, then it is called Carnelian Onyx. When the stone is black throughout the bands, then it is called Black Onyx.  It is said to eliminate apathy, stress and negative thinking.
