Iolite, Peridot & Pearl Necklace

Round Iolite and Peridot are broken up with Freshwater Pearl nuggets in champagne.  The beads are accented with Sterling Silver daisy and round beads.  Necklace measures 16 ˝” and includes a 2” sterling extender chain.  Sterling silver lobster clasp.

 

Iolite is sometimes referred to as “water sapphire” because it is commonly found in water deposits.  It can be mistaken for sapphires and it changes color if viewed from different angles. 
 
Peridot is the birthstone of August.  It is a yellow-green gemstone that is colored from the ferrous iron within.
 
Freshwater pearls are grown in freshwater mussels.  One mussel can yield more than twenty or more pearls in each harvest.  It only takes one and a half to two years to grow each "crop" of pearls.
