Citrine is a type of quartz that resembles topaz quartz. Citrine is named from the French name for lemon, citron," many citrines have a juicy lemon color. It is very durable and is sometimes made by heating Amethyst from its characteristic purple-violet color to the yellow color of Citrine. Citrine can be anywhere from yellow to gold, to an orange-brown. Citrine is thought to give protection from snake venom and evil thoughts.
